REGULATIONS
The Organizational Regulations of the Museum of Olympism at the University of Szczecin state that the tasks of this general academic organizational unit of the university include, among others:
- Integrating the university’s scientific community around research issues related to Olympism in an interdisciplinary approach;
- Initiating and organizing cooperation with entrepreneurs, local government units, public administration bodies, the Polish Olympic Committee, the Polish Olympic Academy, the Polish Paralympic Committee, the West Pomeranian Olympic Council, the Szczecin Olympian Club, Polish sports clubs, as well as higher education institutions and other entities working for Olympism in scientific and Olympic educational contexts domestically and abroad;
- Organizing and conducting interdisciplinary research and scientific expeditions, and promoting the results of the conducted research;
- Organizing conferences, workshops, seminars, summer schools, and other events of a scientific, educational, or popularizing nature.
As of December 31, 2023, the Museum of Olympism at the University of Szczecin is so far the only distinct general academic museum unit in Poland with a sports profile related to Olympism, simultaneously performing research and educational functions.
