MUSEUM COUNCIL
The Organizational Regulations of the Museum of Olympism at the University of Szczecin define the structure of this university unit. The Rector of the University of Szczecin appoints a Council consisting of up to seven members (the composition cannot include the director or the deputy director) and the chairman of the Museum Council. This Council acts as an advisory body to the director’s activities.

dr hab. Renata Urban, prof.US
Chair of the Museum Council at the University of Szczecin. Doctor habilitated in physical culture sciences, a research and teaching staff member of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Health of the University of Szczecin (INoKF WKFiZ US), chair of the Scientific Council of INoKF WKFiZ US. She specializes in the history of physical culture and the history of the Polish and global Olympic movement. She is an author, co-author, editor, and co-editor of scientific works, scientific articles, and popular science articles on these topics. A member of the Council of the Polish Olympic Academy operating within the structures of the Polish Olympic Committee, and the Lubusz Olympic Council. She supported Polish Olympians during the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008). She has been awarded the bronze (1999), silver (2007), and gold medal “For Merits to the Polish Olympic Movement” (2022).
prof. dr hab. Radosław Gaziński
A research and teaching staff member of the Historical Institute at the University of Szczecin. Specializes in modern economic history, the history of Pomerania, archival science, and library science. From 2004 to 2017, he served as the director of the Main Library of the University of Szczecin, and from 2015 to 2017 as the director of the University of Szczecin’s Scientific Publishing House. He is a member of the University Council of the University of Szczecin for the 2020–2024 term, and since 2001, a member of the Board of the National Museum in Szczecin.
dr Wioletta Łubkowska, prof.US
A teaching staff member of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Health of the University of Szczecin. She is the author and co-author of many works related to Olympism. She participated in nationwide scientific conferences: “Olympism in Theory and Practice (1894–2014)”, “The Modern Olympic Movement in the Perspective of Theory and Practice”, “Cross-border Issues of the Olympic Movement in Western Pomerania”. She coordinated the work of student volunteers during the opening of the Museum of Olympism at the University of Szczecin.
dr Adrianna Banio – Krajnik
A research and teaching staff member of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Health of the University of Szczecin. She is the author of the book “Olympic Tourism: My First Games”, the scientific editor of the publication “The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics in the Face of the COVID-19 Pandemic” (also published in English), and many scientific and popular science works related to the issues of Olympism as well. She directed and produced a film about Szczecin Olympians titled “Extraordinary” (2009). She is a member of the Youth Circle of the Polish Olympic Academy operating within the structures of the Polish Olympic Committee, serving as the vice-chairperson. She has represented Poland multiple times in Olympia, Greece, during: the 21st International Seminar for Postgraduate Olympic Studies, the 61st International Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors, the 28th International Seminar for Postgraduate Olympic Studies (where she was already a lecturer on behalf of the International Olympic Academy), the 25th International Session for delegates of National Olympic Committees and National Olympic Academies as a representative of the Polish Olympic Committee. She attended the Olympic Games in Beijing (2008), London (2012), and Rio de Janeiro (2016) as a fan and Polish community activist. At the Games of the XXX Olympiad, she conducted social research with the only Polish official ticket distributor and created an intercultural meeting center for Olympic fans in London to preserve and spread the Olympic spirit. At the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, she coordinated an international educational project under the patronage of the Polish Olympic Committee “Olympic Fellowship” and was a member of the Polish Olympic Center in the center of the POLONIA Charity Society in the capital of Brazil.
dr Marek Kolbowicz
A research and teaching staff member of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Health of the University of Szczecin. An author and co-author of many works related to the issues of Olympism in Poland, including in Western Pomerania. President of the Szczecin Olympians Club, University Sports Association (AZS) Club of the University of Szczecin. An acclaimed rower: Olympic gold medalist in the men’s quadruple sculls – Beijing 2008, five-time Olympic participant, four-time world champion, multiple Polish champion, athlete of the first decade of the 21st century.
mgr Marcin Lewandowski
In 2011, he completed his master’s degree in Physical Education (teaching specialty) at the University of Szczecin (Faculty of Physical Culture and Health Promotion). A Polish middle-distance runner specializing in the 800m and 1500m events. A four-time Olympic participant: Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, Tokyo 2020. A medalist at world championships, European championships, Polish championships, and other championship-level events. In May 2022, he ended his sports career.
mgr Tomasz Kaźmierczak
In 2002, he completed his master’s degree in Physical Education (teaching specialty) at the University of Szczecin (Institute of Physical Culture of the Faculty of Natural Sciences). He is a para-rowing coach at the Disabled Sports Club “Start” Szczecin, for the Polish national para-rowing team and the Paralympic team. So far, he has participated four times in the Paralympic Games as a coach and coordinator of the Paralympic rowing team: Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, Tokyo 2020. The continuing sporting achievements of his charges suggest that he has a strong chance to serve as a para-rowing coach at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games (as of 2022, the International Paralympic Committee – IPC, Polish Paralympic Committee – PKPar). He is also the president of the KSI “Start” Szczecin.
